MFT COLORING VIRTUOSO (annual Card Design Superstar Contest) - CHRISTMAS CARD: MFT - Christmas Cheer & Watercolor Wash Stencil

Hello everyone, I am super excited... since surgery, I made my first card yesterday! Since the deadline is really close from the MFT annual Card Design Superstar Contest, I decided to dedicate my first card for this purpose by making a card for the category "Coloring Virtuoso". I truly went out of my comfort zone creating this background, so I hope you like it!

You can watch the video below or click HERE to watch at my Youtube channel. A supply list can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this card, I started by creating the background. Therefor, I took an A2 sized panel, I indicated the area for my background by using the Watercolor Wash Stencil and the lightest ink I have in my craft room (gravel from TSM). Next, I took several copic markers to create the background (combination listed below). Afterwards, I added some trees with brown markers.

  • Sky (accessories): RV69, RV29, R17, YR12, Y35, Y02, Y00
  • Snowy hills: G0000, G000
  • Tree (close/far): E79 / E74
  • Bunny: E37, E33, E53(, E51) / E33, E53, E51 / E13, E11

For the image on my card, I took the Christmas Cheer stamp set from MFT. I colored it in using copic markers (combinations listed above). Afterwards, I used the matching die to cut it out. I white heat embossed (and black ink) a sentiment on the top half of my background. After adding white splatters (gouache) to represent snow, I adhered the panel on top of a card base. I hope you got inspired by this card!
