Hello crafty friends! Today, Julia and I are sharing a new #challengeacraftyfriend card! And for me, it was the definition of "going outside of my comfort zone". The challenge: create an inside shadow box with the theme "trim the tree". This is the first time that I made an inside shadow box, but I love how it turned out!

I started by stamping out the images by Avery Elle onto Neenah using Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink. Next, I used my Copic Markers to color everything in. With the matching dies I cut everything out.
Then it was time to create the inside shadow box. I first cut a full sheet of Neenah in half (this way you get the regular cardbases for an A2) One of them, I cut 1/4 of an inch smaller.
Card base: 8 x 5 1/2 inches (score at 4 1/4 inches)
Shadow Box: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (score at: 1/2, 4 1/4, 4 3/4), tip: cut a tiny sliver of the 1/2 inches flap (this will make it easier to adhere and to close the card in the end).
Card base: 8 x 5 1/2 inches (score at 4 1/4 inches)
Shadow Box: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (score at: 1/2, 4 1/4, 4 3/4), tip: cut a tiny sliver of the 1/2 inches flap (this will make it easier to adhere and to close the card in the end).
I decided for my shadow box to cut out a rectangle manually (so I took a craft knife to help me). I kept a frame of 3/8 of an inch on each side. Next, I worked on my background for the shadow box. I inkblended some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. I also cut out 2 hillsides and added these to make background.
Time to start on the front of my card. I used the Window die from The Stamp Market. I cut it out of my card base as well as out of some pattern papers. In between both, I added a piece of acetate. Next, I assembled my shadow box. I first added the background inside of the cardbase, next I added the small flap by folding everything closed (definitely check out the video if things are unclear).
I added all the images to both the outside and the inside of this card. Afterwards, I added some Glossy Accents and Stickles. I hope you like it as much as I do!
