Mama Elephant Friends Challenge #3: Combine

Hello everyone, this card was created for the third challenge in the Mama Elephant Friends group on facebook. This challenge is organized by one of the members!

This card was made with a lot of items from Mama Elephant!

The frame was cut out of some Neenah 110 lb Solar White Card Stock with the frame out of All Prettied Up from Mama Elephant. I cut it out twice, so that I could use the inside of the second frame to make two snowboarders from, which would fit perfectly in the frame when I would start adhering them.

After cutting the frame twice, I started on the inside of the frame. Therefor I took Chipped Saphire Distress Oxide Ink and for the outside boarder Black Soot. Once I liked the blending, I set it aside to dry. Next, I colored my images. I Stamped every image onto some Neenah 110 lb Solar White Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink since I was going to color with some Copic Markers. The sign (Santa's Sleigh from Mama Elephant) was colored with E43 + E44, R35 + R39, the penguin (Cool Penguins from Mama Elephant) was colored with R35 + R39, W6 + W4 + W2, W1, YR04. After everything was colored in, I took the matching dies to cut the images out.

I decided that the sign needed 'SANTA', therefor I took a small sentiment from Mini Messages from Mama Elephant saying '<3 SANTA'. I masked the heart when inking the stamp with VersaMark, took the mask of before stamping and added it to the sign. Then I added some White Embossing Powder from Ranger on top and melted it.

By now, my background was dried. So, I took the circles from the Jingle Greetings from Mama Elephant and stamped them randomly with VersaMark. I added the White Embossing Powder from Ranger once again and melted this as well. Now, the background was finished.

To match the (American) card base with the background, I decided to blend some Chipped Saphire Distress Oxide Ink to the front of the card base. Afterwards, I took the pannel and added the sentiment out of Scripty Xmas from Mama Elephant and stamped this with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink as well to match everything together.

Before I could assemble the card, I had to cut some snowy borders from the second inside piece I created. This was done by the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn.

To assemble the card, I started by placing the pannel onto my card base so that I could inlay the inside piece, adhering this with some Permanent Pritt Roller. Than I added the snow borders. The one in the back was adhered straight onto the inside pannel with Permanent Pritt Roler. The second border was adhered using some Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives. I added the sign in-between the two snow borders and the penguin onto the front border. Afterwards, I added the pannel on top with some Scotch Foam Mounting Tape (unfortunately a bit crooked).

To finish, I added some Glossy Accents from Ranger to the top of the sign and to the envelope, I added some Stickles to the snow on the sign and used it on the Santa hat from the penguin.
And this finishes this card!
